Graduation Day 2019

Completion of one step of education is a start of yet another step and a call for a greater role and duty ahead, duty that requires recognition. This recognition was done in a colorful ceremony on the 25th of May 2019 at the school’s main auditorium. It was a momentous occasion as the students of years 11 and 13 took this step of transition, year 11s to year 12 and year 13s to higher learning.
The Principal, Mr. Ramazan in his commencement speech expressed gratitude to the entire LIS fraternity and extended an offer to the year 11 class to attend the Pre- A level course starting 10th of June for three weeks.
In her address the guest of honor Sr. Dr. Jacinta M. Adhiambo, Dean, Faculty of Education, the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, representing the Vice Chancellor, The Catholic University of Eastern Africa, hailed the unity of purpose that is the spirit of LIS as reflected in the school’s pillars of Leadership, Integrity,Good Judgment and honor.
It was entertainment galore as students of the performing arts club took to the stage to educate and entertain the audience.
Then came the moment of recognition, starting with the Loyalty awards given to the parents with a long standing commitment to having their sons and daughters take their education in our school. Parents of the following students were awarded; Yusuf Hirei Gassem, Ibrahim Abdurahman ,Hussein Said Abdurahman Hussein, Abdulhakim Farah Maalim, Rahemtulla Mukhtar Omar, Yusuf Nunow Hassan, Muthoni Kamau, Siham Mahat and Aammarah Nahid Hasham
Then followed the special awards category that saw the following students receive certificates, notable among those who feted were the co-presidents of the students council Immanuel Ogendo and Siham Mahat and student of the moment was Said Abdulrahman was the best student in the Country in the Global perspective subject, a very commendable achievement indeed!
The ceremony then climaxed to ushering of students on stage accompanied by their parents to receive their awards. And in a spectacular exchange of a flowers and plaques of honor, appreciation and commendation was shown.
The ceremony ended with a graduation dinner for all.
