After a competitive exhibition and presentation of projects before jury members, the 9th edition of the Golden Climate International Environmental Projects Olympiad came to a close with a colorful award ceremony.
This year the Wangari Maathai Grand Award was again won by UKRAINE with a project on Cryoacoustic processing of tires who also bagged USD200.Golden Medal winners in their respective categories were as follows: Junior category-Kenya’ Oshwal Academy Nairobi and Light International School Mombasa, E-design Kenya’s Jefferey’s Academy Mombasa and Shree Swaminarayan Academy Mombasa. Environment- Ukraine and Belarus, Energy Kenya’s S.C.L.P Samaj School and South Africa, Agriculture- Belarus and South Africa, Engineering- Kenya’s Aga Khan Academy Mombasa and Kosovo.The gold medalists also took with them 100 usd cash prize.
Mr.Ramazan the founding coordinator of this competition hailed the progressive realization of a golden generation through actualization of some projects and paid particular tribute to the government of Ukraine for its commitment to funding the competition’s last year grand award winner.
