Transformative Community Service at Tumaini Timbwani Primary School

On April 2nd, 2024, students from Light International School, Mombasa, embarked on a remarkable journey as they participated in the Gold Level of the Duke of Edinburgh International Awards – Presidential Award Kenya. The setting for this impactful endeavor was Tumaini Timbwani Primary School in Mombasa, Kenya, where our students dedicated themselves to community service with a lasting impact.

Event Highlights:

• Complete School Makeover: Our students rolled up their sleeves and got to work, painting classrooms at Tumaini Timbwani Primary School. Their efforts brought vibrant colors and renewed energy to the school, leaving a lasting impression on the entire community.
• Culmination of Three Levels: Having successfully completed the Bronze, Silver, and now Gold levels of the Duke of Edinburgh International Awards, our students have demonstrated remarkable dedication, perseverance, and leadership throughout their journey.
• Upcoming Presidential Recognition: The students are now poised to receive their well-deserved certificates, which will be personally issued by the President at the State House. This prestigious recognition is a testament to their commitment to community service and personal growth.
