Why is numeracy important in a child’s life? Our lives are pegged on arithmetic. We use maths when we go shopping. We use maths when it is raining. We use maths to count our toys. We use maths to relate to years, even when jumping a pond, we calculate the steps to hop. This is why we consider having a numeracy contest to build on critical thinking and problem solving for our walking calculators.
Apart from having fun, the pupils shared ideas in working as a group and owning responsibilities collectively.
