Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) stands as the premier global provider of international education programs and qualifications, boasting over 150 years of expertise in the field. With a network of more than 10,000 schools spanning 160+ countries, CAIE delivers a comprehensive curriculum recognized worldwide for its ability to foster academic excellence and equip students for lifelong learning. At Light International School Primary (LISP), our integration of CAIE principles establishes a robust foundation for our students’ academic pursuits.
Our curriculum uniquely combines the Cambridge Primary Curriculum with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), celebrated for its rigorous, creative, and adaptable design. The IPC contains over 130 customizable thematic units, promoting interdisciplinary learning that emphasizes the interconnectedness of different subjects. Key features of the IPC include defined subject goals, personal growth objectives, and international awareness, all aimed at enhancing critical thinking, research skills, and creativity.
We augment our curriculum with advanced digital platforms such as Coolsis and IXL, which are instrumental in fostering essential 21st-century competencies. Our professional educators leverage modern pedagogical methods and innovative technologies to facilitate superior learning experiences.
LISP is committed to academic excellence, guided by three core pillars: knowledge, skill, and understanding. Our comprehensive curriculum integrates both curricular and extra-curricular components, promoting holistic development in students spiritual, moral, social, emotional, and academic. The amalgamation of IPC and CAIE frameworks crafts a rigorous academic pathway, equipping students for contemporary challenges. Our Year 6 students participate in the Cambridge Checkpoint examination each April, with results provided in August. The assessment covers key subjects, including: English, Maths, Science and Global Perspective
