World Scholars’ Cup 2018

The Light International School once again played host the second largest regional round in the of the World Scholars cup on the 15th of February 2018. Over 800 students converged for the event that saw them compete in the different academic areas like collaborative creative writing, scholars challenge that is a multiple choice exam, the scholar’s bowl, and team debates.


The segments of the competitions all revolved under one central theme ‘An Entangled World.’ Our school has represented by 64 students being the second largest school delegation during the round.

The two day Nairobi round was co-hosted by Light international school and The Catholic University, where day two of the event took place at the university.

It was pomp and splendor as students put the best of the abilities in the areas of showcasing talent during the debate showcase.

At the tail end of the competition, our students did not disappoint as they registered a resounding victory with a 90% qualification merit to the Global round.

It was a great joy as the students got to the stage to receive their medals and trophies.The team now has to prepare for a Global round of their choice, from either Malaysia June, Spain in July or Australia in August.

As we wish them all the best, we also extend our gratitude to the parents for their continued support in the welfare of student growth.
