The Humanities Department at Light International School is the home of ambition. It has a team of highly qualified, ambitious and passionate teachers who consistently deliver on quality teaching/learning experiences to our students. As a department, we value outstanding subject knowledge and skills, and strive to help students to soar to the highest levels.
The department has a wealth of relevant academic resources that greatly contribute to the enrichment of our students’ learning experiences. In addition, we have leaner-friendly classrooms that are conducive for academic work.
Our vision is to help students to develop an awareness of and fascination with the human, physical and environmental issues around them and the wider world. To this end, we provide relevant curricular to our students that encourage their independence and confidence through critical inquiry. In addition, we from time to time, organize out of class teaching/learning experiences through fieldwork and other educational trips.
In our department we set achievable yet challenging targets for the students taking the different subjects offered. Students are, in turn, aware of these targets and how best to achieve them.
