GENIUS Olympiad is an international high school project competition about environmental issues. It is  founded and organized by the Terra Science and Education and hosted by the State University of New York at Oswego

This year ,participation of 1035 projects from 69 countries were on the Genius Olympiad. It is one of the biggest environmental competition in the world. Our students made us proud by taking part in such a huge project competition. We participate to this competition with two teams in different categories with supervisor Mr. Yasin Sohret.

Melvin Njuguna and Andrew Kimanthi presented an environmental project titled as “Water conservation in dry areas using hexadecan-1-ol”, and awarded with Honarable Mention and certificate. Evans Kamau and Brandon Chagema presented an environmental short movie called “Worth it”, and awarded with Bronze Medal and certificate.

While students were competing in various categories, they also presented Kenyan culture and learned from the other cultures. It was a great platform for pear to pear learning and sharing.

We also did Manhattan-New York trip with our Students. We visited The Empirate State building, Central Park, Rockefeller Tower, Madam Tussaud museum, many shopping malls and Manhattan streets. We enjoyed a lot and it was amazing trip for us.

We thank all our parents and school which were supported and gave us this chance to join to this event.
