Our Students once again made us proud when they represented Kenya at the World Finals of Infomatrix ICT Project Olympiad which was held in Bucharest, Romania between 26th and 30th May 2016.
Bryan Kariithi and Wendo Muthui were awarded a Silver Medal in the Short Movie Category for their project titled “An Imperfect World”. Their short movie was an interview-based production that looks at the injustice of corruption which affects marginalized persons in our society. The movie highlights some of the challenges faced by street children in Nairobi, including the difficult life brought about by limited access to basic needs, stigmatization and more.
The second project in the Programming Category was prepared by Ammon Emmanuel and David Lutta. The project was an android based networking application called EduScope. The application connects teachers and students for the purpose of promoting learning beyond the classroom. With this application, teachers can reach out to students and provide academic assistance and advice from the comfort of home. Students with problems in specific areas can also reach teachers at any time for assistance and assignments.
In Robotics Category, our students also represented Kenya and got awarded as follows;
Brian Katela Kimanthi and Mahine Ramadhan Mohamed were awarded a Silver Medal for their Lego Sumo Robot named MASAI. Another robot named LAMU, built by Samuel Russom Ghebrehiwet, Suleiman Pal Mariga and Osman Kemboy, was awarded a Bronze medal.
